Abstract

Salah satu pengaplikasian electrostatic precipitator yakni sebagai reaktor plasma dengan injeksi gas oksigen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat sebuah reaktor plasma berbasis electrostatic precipitator, mengetahui proses terbentuknya plasma dari injeksi gas oksigen, menganalisis breakdown voltage terhadap debit gas dan jarak elektroda, serta mengetahui nilai mobilitas elektron. Prinsip yang digunakan oleh plasma yaitu peristitwa ionisasi atau terlepasnya elektron dari suatu atom. Proses perancangan reaktor plasma meliputi desain chamber, desain rangkaian alat, dan pengujian alat. Desain chamber dibuat dengan bentuk tabung berukuran diameter 10,5 cm dan tinggi 11 cm. Elektroda yang digunakan pada ¬chamber yakni elektroda jarum tembaga dengan diameter 1,13 mm. Jarak elektroda yang digunakan yaitu: 10 mm, 15 mm, dan 20 mm. Dalam pengukuran, variabel breakdown voltage diukur pada masing-masing variasi debit dan jarak elektroda. Apabila debit gas oksigen dan jarak elektroda diperbesar, maka breakdown voltage akan mengalami kenaikan. Dari hasil yang telah didapatkan, hubungan debit gas oksigen dan jarak elektroda ialah berbanding lurus dengan breakdown voltage yang sesuai dengan penjabaran rumus empirisnya. Mobilitas elektron terbesar yakni 126.10-20 m2/Vs pada jarak elektroda 10 mm. Sedangkan nilai mobilitas terkecil yakni 13,8.10-20 m2/Vs pada jarak elektroda 20 mm.

One application of electrostatic precipitator is a plasma reactor with oxygen gas injection. This study aims to make a plasma reactor based electrostatic precipitator, know the process of plasma formation from oxygen gas injection, analyze the breakdown voltage of the gas flow rate and electrode distance, and know electron mobility. The principle used by plasma is the ionization event or the removal of electrons from an atom. The process of designing a plasma reactor includes chamber design, tool circuit design, and tool testing. The chamber design is made in the form of a tube measuring 10.5 cm in diameter and 11 cm in high. The electrodes used in the chamber are copper needle electrodes with a diameter of 1.13 mm. The distance of the electrodes used are: 10 mm, 15 mm, and 20 mm. In measurements, the breakdown voltage is measured for each variation of flow rate and electrode distance. If the oxygen gas flow rate and electrode distance are enlarged, the breakdown voltage will increase. From the results obtained, the relationship between oxygen gas flow rate and electrode distance is directly proportional to the breakdown voltage in accordance with the translation of the empirical formula. Highest electron mobility is 126.10-20 m2/Vs that 10 mm electrode distance. And lowest electron mobility is 13,8.10-20 m2/Vs that 20 mm electrode distance.
