Abstract

Provision of additional power plant in low electrification areas is needed immediately. However, the construction of land-based power plant need a longer time. Floating power plant is the solution to provide additional power when the land-based power plant is under construction. East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) is the region with the lowest electrification ratio in Indonesia, which is only 61.01%. This thesis analyzes optimal size of the Powerbarge to supply additional power in NTT with optimization method. Demand of power in NTT were forecasted by principal analysis component regression method. The power output of the powerbarge is determined by gap analysis of electricity supply-demand. The optimal main dimension of Powerbarge that has been obtained are Lpp = 53,22 m; B = 20,16 m; H = 5,44 m; T = 3,51 m; with the output 20,8 MW and unit cost Rp 1.234,88 per kWh for 100 % load factor and Rp 1.463,71 for load factor on demand.
