Abstract

Biofouling merupakan akumulasi mikroorganisme,
tumbuhan dan hewan yang menempel sementara atau tetap pada
permukaan benda, utamanya pada badan kapal, dan menjadi
salah satu penyebab biodeterioration. Salah satu cara
penanggulangannya hingga saat ini adalah dengan penggunaan
cat kapal yang dicampur dengan Tributyltin (TBT). Namun
penggunaan bahan kimia tersebut berefek negatif pada beberapa
hewan laut, oleh karena itu penggunaan cat dengan campuran
bahan utama Natural Product Antifoulant (NPA) mulai
digunakan. Durian (Durio zibethinus) merupakan tumbuhan yang
memiliki senyawa antifouling sehingga perlu dieksplorasi potensinya
sebagai bahan baru NPA. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk
mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi ekstrak kulit Durio zibethinus
terhadap luasan penempelan dan biomassa biofouling pada plat
kapal.
Uji skrining fitokimia menunjukan ekstrak kental kulit
Durio zibethinus positif mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder
alkaloid, terpenoid, tanin, flavonoid dan saponin. Hasil
pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak kulit Durio zibethinus
memberikan pengaruh terhadap luas penempelan dan biomassa
biofouling, dimana pada minggu ke-empat percobaan tercatat
luas penempelan 66,1% (0 ppm), 62,1 (25 ppm), 60,9% (50 ppm),
54,2% (75 ppm), 47,8% (100 ppm). Sedangkan Biomassa biofouling di minggu 4 terhitung 36,6 g (0 ppm), 30,3 g (25 ppm),
20,4 g (50 ppm), 9,6 g (75 ppm) dan 8,9 g (100 ppm). Hasil
tersebut menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak D.zibethinus berpotensi
sebagai anti makrofouling, dan spesies biofouling yang
ditemukan diidentifikasi hanya satu jenis yaitu Balanus
amphitrite.

Biofouling is an accumulation of microorganisms, plants
and animals attached temporarily or permanently on the surface
of objects, especially on the hull, and became one of the causes
biodeterioration. One way to overcome this is to use your current
ship paint mixed with Tributyltin (TBT). But the use of such
chemicals negatively affect some marine animals, therefore the
use of paint with a mixture of main ingredients Natural Product
antifoulant (NPA) into use. Durian (Durio zibethinus) is a plant
that has antifouling compounds that need to be explored as a
potential new material NPA. This study aims to determine the
effect of skin extract concentration Durio zibethinus to the width
of the attachment and biomass biofouling on ship plate.
Phytochemical screening test showed a thick skin extract
Durio positive zibethinus contains secondary metabolites,
alkaloids, terpenoids, tannins, flavonoids and saponins. The
results showed that skin extract Durio zibethinus give effect to the
attachment area and biomass biofouling, in which at week four
comprehensive experiments attachment recorded 66.1% (0 ppm),
62.1 (25 ppm), 60.9% (50 ppm), 54.2% (75 ppm), 47.8% (100
ppm). While Biomass biofouling in Week 4 as of 36.6 g (0 ppm),
30.3 g (25 ppm), 20.4 g (50 ppm), 9.6 g (75 ppm) and 8.9 g (100
ppm ). The results showed that the extract has potential as an anti
makrofouling Durio zibethinus and biofouling species had been
identified only one type that is Balanus amphitrite.
