Abstract

The availability of fuel oil burning increasingly limited and the results have an impact on environmental pollution, then all the effort to save fuel consumption and utilization of environmentally friendly energy should be done. One of them by using HHO gas to the Motor Combustion. In studies that have been conducted with a direct connection, the electrolyte temperature is over 90 ° C causes the HHO generator vessels become damaged and melt. If the temperature continues to rise, the HHO gas produced will be mixed with water vapor. This research was developed with additional means to control the amount of current, frequency, and duty cycle a series PWM (Pulse Width Modulation). Therefore, research is needed on the specific characteristics and performance of several types of generators to get the best optimization. In this study, the development of HHO generator uses dry type (dry cell). The second type of generator testing with the addition of such varied PWM duty cycle: 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100% (direct connection). Generator configuration using grade 1 titanium electrode plates and as much as 12 areas of dimensions 80 x 80 mm.
