Abstract

A gas turbine is a fluid driving machine by utilizing gas as a working fluid. One control system that needs to be considered is the input from the furnace. The furnace is an important component in a gas turbine that functions as a heat producer. In this final project, and optimization of the air to fuel ratio control (AFRC) control system is done using the plantwide control (PWC) method. AFRC is made by installing a cascade control system between the power turbine and the mass flow rate of the fuel. Fuel mass flow rate with mass flow rate through the control ratio to match the stoichiometric AFR or AFR power so that the maximum turbine produced is optimal. This AFRC design is an improvement of the gas turbine control system at PT. SIPL. This design has a maximum overshoot value and also a steady-state error of under 2%. The completion time value of the mass flow rate of the fuel and the mass airflow compilation rate increased by 237 seconds and 268 seconds. Where as the compilation down is 207 seconds and 256 seconds. This AFRC can optimize turbines from their original value of 2093 kW to 3199 kW with an optimum AFR of 20,53. This increased power can make savings of 785,864 US$ / MMBTU
