Abstract
Hostel merupakan salah satu sarana penginapan dengan konsep budget-oriented. Saat ini kebutuhan akomodasi yang praktis dan murah bagi para wisatawan yang sedang berlibur semakin meningkat. Banyak dari mereka yang menempuh cara berlibur dengan backpacker demi meminimalisir pengeluaran.
Perkembangan desain interior hostel saat ini lebih mengacu pada peningkatan kenyamanan pengguna hostel. Hal ini dapat diciptakan melalui suasana ruang yang unik, desain area ruangan yang artistik, serta meningkatkan atau menambahkan fasilitas publik di dalamnya, sehingga dapat meninggalkan kesan bagi para pengguna. Berbeda dengan hotel, hostel lebih menekankan nilai kebersamaan serta ruang publik. Pengambilan konsep desain interior yang berfokus pada nilai sosial interaktif sangat cocok diterapkan pada hostel. Melalui fasilitas-fasilitas bersama serta penataan layout dan desain yang nyaman, diharap dapat mendorong interaksi sosial antar tamu sehingga dapat menjadi cerita yang tak terlupakan bagi mereka. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah metode approach research.
Edu Hostel merupakan sebuah hostel di Yogyakarta yang memiliki visi misi edukasi, terutama mengenai Kota Yogyakarta. Maka selain penanaman konsep interaksi sosial, diterapkan pula konsep edukasi mengenai tata nilai budaya Yogyakarta yang dituangkan ke dalam desain interior. Tata nilai budaya yang diterapkan dapat berupa nilai filosofis ataupun dalam hal kesenian khas Yogyakarta yang kemudian diolah dan diterapkan ke dalam penataan layout serta permbangunan suasana dan nilai esetika ruang.

Hostel is one of the lodging facilities with a budget-oriented concept. In this time, the need for practical and inexpensive accommodation for tourists who are on vacation is increasing. Many of them take the backpacker vacation to minimize expenses.
The development of hostel interior design nowadays is more based on increasing the convenience of hostel users. This can be created through the unique atmosphere of the room, the artistic design of the room area, as well as improving or adding public facilities in it, so that it can leave an impression for the visitor. In contrast to hotels, hostels emphasize the value of togetherness and public space. Taking the concept of interior design that focuses on interactive social values is very suitable to be applied in hostels. Through shared facilities and a comfortable layout and design, it is hoped that it can encourage social interaction between the visitor so that they it will bring an unforgettable story for them. This research used approach research method.
Edu Hostel is a hostel in Yogyakarta that has a vision and mission on education, especially to educate people regarding the City of Yogyakarta. In addition to inculcating the concept of social interactive, also applied the concept of education about the cultural values of Yogyakarta that is outlined in the interior design. The cultural values that are applied can be in the form of philosophical values or in the case of Yogyakarta's special arts, which are then processed and applied in the layout arrangement as well as the development of atmosphere and the aesthetic value of space.
