Abstract

PT.
proses warehousing finished goods powder. Waste kritis ditentukan dengan Gemba Shikumi. Akar
penyebab terjadinya waste didapatkan dengan 5 whys analysis . Impact-Effort Matrix digunakan
and Storing Area dan pemakaian pallet cover.

PT. X is one of the five largest sweeteners producing companies in Indonesia operating in
East Java. To support the production process, PT. X has 16 warehouses with details of 14
warehouses inside the plant and 2 off-plant warehouses located 7 km from the plant. There are
indications of non-value-added activities in that warehouses. To solve these problems, it is
necessary to eliminate or reduce warehouse activities that are not value-added with the Lean
Warehousing concept. Value Stream Mapping and Process Activity Mapping are used to map
activities and find waste in the warehousing finished goods powder process. Critical Waste is
determined by Gemba Shikumi. The root cause of waste is obtained by 5 whys analysis. ImpactEffort Matrix is used to assess which improvements are appropriate to implement. Two critical
wastes in the warehousing process for finished goods powder are manual recording activities
regarding product placement and product vacuuming (preventing lice from being sent). Proposed
improvements to eliminate the root causes of critical waste are the design of the Integrated
Barcoding Pallet and Storing Area System and the use of pallet covers.
