Abstract
Covid-19 has had a significant impact on many parts of people's lives, not simply in terms of health but also in economics. Therefore, in August 2020, one of the companies that provide logistics services in Indonesia has simultaneously launched e-commerce applications to take the opportunity of this shifting. This e commerce grocery retail is a digital-based program designed for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to purchase food commodities from food SOEs. Established in August and is set to operate through September 2020. There are some issues found in operation, such as inefficiency of item placement and overcapacity that occurred during the peak season, when the products took over the aisle area due to the enormous order demand, making material handling movement more difficult to do, especially since the storage policy is using randomized storage policy, which can cause difficulty in the picking process due to commodity block each other. Therefore, in this study, the process of calculating appropriate capacity and the storage assignment on the existing warehouse and the proposed warehouse is carried out using a dedicated storage method. The calculated mileage was provided as input for the optimization approach, which was performed using ILP, excel software to reduce the material handling cost. The results of capacity calculation show that one additional identic warehouse is required. The results of three scenario material handling time for one month in scenario 1, scenario 2, scenario 3 is 5008 minutes, 2846 minutes, and 1781 minutes, respectively.
