Abstract

Pengelasan merupakan metode penggabungan material yang sudah sangat umum digunakan di hampir seluruh cabang industri dan konstruksi. Salah satu material yang sering digunakan sebagai material pokok dalam pengelasan adalah baja. Baja JIS G 4051 Grade S45C merupakan salah satu baja karbon medium yang umum ditemui di industri kemaritiman. Hasil akhir dari pengelasan dapat dipengaruhi oleh banyak faktor. Salah satu faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi hasil pengelasan adalah heat treatment atau perlakuan panas yang terdiri dari pre-heatingdanpost-weld heat treatment. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perlakuan panas terhadap ketahanan tekuk, kekuatan tarik, nilai kekerasan, dan struktur makro serta mikropada pengelasan baja JIS G 4051 Gr. S45C menggunakan metode pengelasan Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW). Suhu pre-heatingyang digunakan sebesar 150 ̊C serta variasi suhu post-weld heat treatment(PWHT) yang digunakan adalah 300 ̊C dan 400 ̊C.Padahasil pengujian tarik, pengelasan tanpa PWHT mempunyai rata-rata nilai ultimate tensile strenghtter besar yaitu 556,71MPadan material dengan PWHT sebesar 400 ̊C memiliki nilai keuletan terbesar yaitu 0,525%. Hasil pengujian kekerasan menunjukkan material pengelasan tanpa PWHT memiliki rata-rata nilai kekerasan terbesar yaitu 166,5 HV. Hasil pengamatan struktur makro pada spesimen pengelasan dengan PWHT 400 ̊C menunjukkan daerah HAZ terbesar dengan lebar 5,1mmsedangkan daerah HAZ terkecil dimiliki oleh spesimen tanpa PWHT dengan 2,83 mm. Hasil pengamatan struktur mikro menunjukkan seluruh spesimen memiliki fasa pearlite dan ferrite. Spesimen pengelasan dengan PWHT 400 ̊C memiliki kandungan struktur ferrite yang paling banyakyaitu 60,7%. Sedangkan spesimen pengelasan tanpa PWHT memiliki kandungan struktur ferrite yang paling sedikityaitu 48,7%.

Welding is a method of joining materials that is very commonly used in almost all branches of industry and construction. JIS G 4051 Grade S45C steel is one of the most common medium carbon steels found in the maritime industry. The final result ofwelding can be affected by many factors. One of the factors that can affect the results of welding is heat treatment or heat treatment which consists of pre-heating and post-weld heat treatment. This study aims to determine the effect of heat treatment onbuckling resistance, tensile strength, hardness value, and macro and micro structure of JIS G 4051 Gr steel welding. S45C uses Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) welding method. The pre-heating temperature used is 150 ̊C and the post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) temperature variations used are 300 ̊C and 400 ̊C.In the tensile test results, welding without PWHT has the largest average ultimate tensile strength value of 556,71MPa and material with PWHT of 400 ̊C has the largest ductility value of 0.525%. The results of the hardness test show that the welding material without PWHT has the largest average hardness value of 166.5 HV. The results of macro-structure observations on welding specimens with PWHT 400 ̊C showed the largest HAZ area with a width of 5.1 mm while the smallest HAZ area was owned by specimens without PWHT with 2.83 mm. The results of microstructure observations showed that all specimens had pearlite and ferrite phases. Welding specimens with PWHT 400 ̊C had the highest ferrite structure content of 60.7%. While the welding specimen without PWHT has the least ferrite structure content of 48.7%
