Abstract

This research is focused on analysis to identify and select the best alternative criteria for the development of lean supply chain performance assessment in PTE garment factoriy. This analysis is motivated by the existence of overtime costs, long production lead times, process inefficiencies, high ratesof defects, and final delivery that is not on-time. Balanced Scorecard approach with four perspectives is used in this study because its capability onproviding a better guide to measuring supply chain performance. This study combines DEMATEL and ANP methods, with a lean supply chain performance assessment using Searcy model. The results showed that the leannes degree that PTE had achieved was only 26%, which indicates that there are several aspects that really need to be improved in the current PTE supply chain. Calculations using DEMATEL method concluded that the six sub-criteriasonly affect the other sub-criteria or have a one-way relationship, while the other five sub-criterisa are correlated with each other or have a two-way relationship. Calculations using ANP method concluded that the best selected alternative criteria for each balanced scorecard perspective are reducing additional production costs for financial perspective (0.76%), reducing the ratesof product defects during production for customer perspective (21.12%), increasing the flexibility of sending raw materials from suppliers for internal business perspective ( 47.93%), and increasing the number of products with new styles for perspective of innovation and learning (30.19%). These alternative criteriascan be used as guidelines for PTEto developtheir lean supply chain performance based on lean paradigm.
