Abstract

Persimpangan antara jalan umum dan jalan rel disebut sebagai perlintasan sebidang. Salah satu contoh dari adanya perlintasan sebidang adalah Simpang Joglo yang berlokasi di Kelurahan Banjarsari – Kelurahan Kadipiro, Kelurahan Nusukan – Kelurahan Joglo, Kota Surakarta, Jawa Tengah. Simpang Joglo menghubungkan tujuh jalan sekaligus dan dua stasiun kereta api yakni Stasiun Solo Balapan dan Stasiun Kadipiro. Tingginya volume kendaraan yang melintasi Simpang Joglo mengakibatkan kemacetan khususnya pada jam puncak (peak hour). Ditambah dengan kondisi penutupan palang setiap kereta api melintas, membuat kemacetan pada Simpang Joglo semakin parah. Untuk menghadapi kondisi tersebut, dilakukanlah perubahan dimana perlintasan tidak lagi dibuat sebidang yakni dengan membangun elevated railway menggunakan jembatan tipe pelengkung rangka baja komposit dengan bentang sepanjang 270 m dan tinggi konstruksi 40 m. Hal tersebut menjadikan Elevated Railway Solo Balapan – Kadipiro menjadi jembatan kereta api terpanjang di Indonesia yang melintang di atas Simpang Joglo. Konstruksi jembatan kereta yang menggunakan tipe pelengkung rangka baja komposit sekaligus merupakan jembatan kereta api dengan bentang terpanjang di Indonesia, mendorong penulis untuk bisa mempelajari banyak hal dalam proyek Pembangunan Elevated Railway Antara Solo Balapan – Kadipiro melalui Kerja Praktik yang akan dijalani. Selama menjalani Kerja Praktik penulis berkesempatan untuk mempelajari pekerjaan detour track dengan mengamati beberapa metode pekerjaan seperti galian dan timbunan, penghamparan ballast, pemasangan bantalan rel, las thermitm pekerjaan HTT dan MTT, pemasangan U-Ditch, dan switch over. Selain itu penulis juga berhasil mempelajari perhitungan volume pekerjaan struktur, AHSP, hingga desain bekisting pier. Hasil pengamatan ditutup dengan beberapa permasalahan di lapangan hingga diperlukan adanya justifikasi teknis ataupun penyelesaian secara langsung di lapangan.

The intersection between a highway and a railway is called a level crossing. An example of a level crossing is at Simpang Joglo, Banjarsari – Kadipiro – Nusukan – Joglo District, Surakarta City, Central Java. Simpang Joglo is an intersection that connects seven roads and two railway stations, which are Solo Balapan Station and Kadipiro Station. The high traffic volume that crossed Simpang Joglo leads to congestion and traffic jams, especially at peak hours. In addition, the intersection had to be closed every time the train passes, creating an even worse traffic jam. To address the problem, the railway which creates level crossing was changed to an elevated railway using a composite truss bridge with a total span of 270 m and height of 40 m. The structure configuration makes the elevated railway between Solo Balapan – Kadipiro become the longest railway bridge in Indonesia which spans across Simpang Joglo. These structural configuration and engineering feats motivate writers to learn by working on the project through an internship program. While undergoing an internship, writers learn about several working methods such as cut and fill, railway installation, thermite welding, and switchover. Besides working methods, writers also learn about calculating structural volume, AHSP, and designing falseworks. In the end, writers learn about how to solve problems in the project with technical justification or direct improvisation in the field.
