Abstract

Indonesia as an Agrarian country takes agriculture as one of its main economic pillars. With time, fertilizer's demand is increasing day by day. This makes the Fertilizer Company need to increase its productivity to compete with the overflowing need for fertilizers in Indonesia. By designing a better raw material warehouse layout, the company can increase its productivity and mobility on the production floor. Not only that, the reason why warehouse design needs to be improved is that how its system includes an enormous part of the company's expenses. It can also affect service level, product quality, and time needed to create a finished product. There are many methods to design a better raw material warehouse and one of them is adapted class-based turnover assignment and a variety of dedicated storage methods. This method is chosen because it can reduce picking distance by a considerable distance. By assigning raw materials into categories and ranking based on how many particular raw materials are picked, a focused and efficient warehousing system is created. From the study, it can be concluded that the improved warehouse layout manages to reduce the time needed for the company to bring materials to the production floor. This difference can reduce time by up to 4 minutes for each material.
