Abstract

Museum Sains Surabaya merupakan sebuah tempat yang mewadahi fungsi sebagai tempat wisata dan menunjang pendidikan yang dilengkapi dengan adanya museum temporer. Museum Sains dirancang sebagai sebuah titik loncatan terhadap kemajuan pendidikan di kota surabaya untuk fasilitas rekreasi yang dapat pula menujang pendidikan di kota surabaya. Dengan pendekatan utama melalui pengentasan isu umum terhadap museum yang cenderung mebosankan untuk didatangi kedua kalinya, yaitu dengan mengaburkan batasan antar ruang luar dan dalam serta pergerakan dalam museum itu sendiri. Sehingga pemilihan tema movement menjadi salah satu penyelesaian dalam konsep desain terhadap museum sains itu sendiri. Museum Sains Surabaya diharapkan mampu menjadi sebuah tempat yang kelak mampu memenuhi pariwisata edukasi kota surabaya. Melalui pemahaman terhadap pentingnya edukasi yang dapat dipelajari dengan cara yang menarik, museum sains surabaya memberikan nilai lebih terhadap pariwisata serta meningkatkan pendidikan di kota surabaya. Sebagai tindak lanjut dari upaya desain dan perencanaannya, harapan yang ingin dicapai melalui obyek rancang museum sains surabaya ini adalah menghadirkan tempat wisata yang tidak hanya menghibur melainkan memberikan nilai-nilai edukasi terhadap pengunjungnya.

Surabaya Science Museum is a place that embodies the function as a tourist and educational support that is equipped with a temporary museum. Museum of Science is designed as a stepping point to the progress of education in the city of Surabaya for recreational facilities can also support its education in the city of Surabaya. The main approach through the reduction of the common issues that museums tend to be the boring, then visitors will not attend the second time, by blurring the boundaries between inner and outer space and movement within the museum itself. So, “movement” is being selected to be the themes of design concept on the science’s museum itself. Science Museum Surabaya expected to be a place that is able to meet the educational tourism city of Surabaya. Through an understanding of the importance of education that can be learned in a way that is interesting, science museum surabaya give more value to the tourism and improve education in the city of Surabaya. As a follow-up of design and planning efforts, expectations to be achieved through the design of science museum surabaya object of this is to bring tourist spot not only entertain but provide educational value to visitors.
