Abstract

Salah
satu public space yang memiliki peran penting adalah Sea World Ancol. Sea World
memiliki beragam fasilitas edukasi, rekreasi, dan konservasi. Tetapi sangat disayangkan
Sea World belum menjadi destinasi wisata yang banyak diminati.
Setelah
maksimal.
============================================================================================
Indonesia is a country with the largest islands in the world. With an ocean area of
63% of the total area, it is not surprising that Indonesia has many points with maritime
potential spread along the coast of the island. Unfortunately, this potential is covered by
the issue of overexploitation and garbage that damage Indonesia's marine ecosystem.
From this background, Indonesian people must have an education to properly appreciate
this diversity, especially marine diversity. One of the public space that has an important
role is Sea World Ancol. Sea World has a variety of educational, recreational, and
conservation facilities. But, unfortunately, Sea World has not become a popular tourist
destination. The results of data collection achieved through literature and field studies
including observations, field surveys, and questionnaires prove that there is a need for
design updates on Sea World Ancol related to circulation, lighting, and interior design
issues. Sea World Ancol needs to be improved both in terms of interior comfort which is
the main point to revive the existence of the Oceanarium. After analyzing the problem
and considering several factors, such as object function and visitor type, the new concept
that will be applied is edutainment. The concept of edutainment by presenting the
atmosphere of the sea and modern impression will bring an atmosphere of educational
exhibitions to be fun and attract the interest of visitors to be actively involved so that
learning objectives can be maximally achieved.
