Abstract

Perancangan gudang memegang peran kunci demi kesuksesan keseluruhan operasi perusahaan.

Warehouse design plays a key role in the overall success of a company's operations. In relation to PT. Yamaha Musical Product Indonesia, planning warehouse area needs, as well as increasing the number of storage media will be important things that must be done in facing the ongoing increase in production. In daily operations at PT YMPI's warehouse, order picking (Order Picking) activities are an important operation because Order Picking operations cause significant material handling costs. Proper material allocation is the key to minimizing material handling. One way to make material allocation more effective is to implement an appropriate Storage Policy. The research carried out was to build 2 layout models based on the results of increasing storage material. The parameter for design success is the reduction in material handling distance that occurs. Comparison of material handling distances was carried out using a combination of vertical layout models and horizontal layout models, with a product allocation system based on the ABC Storage policy and code system currently implemented. The results of calculating the material handling distance to the nearest neighbor, using average daily retrieval data at the warehouse, show that the shortest distance value is owned by a combination of the vertical layout model and the implementation of the ABC Storage policy, where there is a decrease in the distance traveled from previously 46010 cm to 35830 cm or a reduction. material handling distance of 21.77%
