Abstract

Indonesia has enormous fisheries potential, but it has not been optimally utilized. One of the main causes is the weakness of aquaculture. Lobster is a priority commodity for aquaculture. Puerulus (clear lobster seed) resources are very abundant in Indonesian waters. However, the threat of cannibalism during molting causes a low survival rate in lobsters, threatening lobster aquaculture production. There is a need for technology that can support lobster farming so as to increase market supply and profitability for farmers. LED lighting is an electroluminescent light source and semiconductor device that can directly convert electrical energy into visible light and radiant energy. LED lighting in aquaculture is useful for regulating photoperiod. In Vietnam, there is a special LED lighting for shrimp farming that can increase shrimp production by 30% and increase survival rate. Research on LED lighting has been developed before, but no downstream products have been made. Therefore, this study aims to determine customer requirements, segmenting, targeting, and positioning, as well as the market potential of LED Special Lighting products for the lobster farming market in Indonesia. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with in-depth interviews as primary data. The results show that LED Special Lighting has great potential with a focus on energy efficiency and flexibility, but needs certification and warranty to increase customer confidence.
