Abstract
Industri reparasi kapal ikan memiliki peran penting dalam menjaga keberlangsungan operasional armada penangkap ikan, terutama di wilayah pesisir seperti Gresik dan Lamongan, Jawa Timur. Seiring perkembangan teknologi digital, terjadi pergeseran dalam mekanisme rantai pasok komponen dan material yang semula berbasis konvensional menuju sistem berbasis e-commerce. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara komprehensif perbedaan karakteristik rantai pasok industri reparasi kapal ikan antara metode konvensional dan e-commerce, dengan fokus pada hierarki pelaku usaha, kelengkapan produk, biaya dan durasi pengiriman, serta keberagaman metode pembayaran. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi literatur, observasi lapangan, serta pengumpulan data primer dan sekunder. Data konvensional dikumpulkan dari pelaku usaha di Gresik dan Lamongan, sedangkan data e-commerce diperoleh melalui salah satu platform e-commerce. Komponen dan material yang ditinjau meliputi permesinan, alat tangkap, material lambung, serta bahan pelapis atau coating. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem konvensional memiliki struktur hierarki yang mengandalkan distributor resmi, unggul dalam kecepatan pengadaan lokal dan penanganan produk berdimensi besar (berat), namun kurang fleksibel dalam hal variasi merk, transparansi harga, jangkauan pasokan, serta akses terhadap informasi ketersediaan produk secara real-time. Sebaliknya, e-commerce menawarkan rantai pasok yang lebih ringkas, variasi produk lebih luas, fleksibilitas pembayaran tinggi, serta transparansi pengiriman. Namun, ecommerce memiliki keterbatasan dalam menangani barang dengan berat maksimal 23 kg per paket atau dimensi 40 cm × 28 cm × 28 cm, sehingga kurang sesuai untuk komponen besar. Pembayaran pada e-commerce lebih beragam dan efisien dibandingkan metode konvensional yang masih terbatas pada tunai atau transfer langsung. Pemilihan metode pengadaan perlu disesuaikan dengan jenis produk, urgensi, kondisi geografis, serta batasan volume dan berat guna mencapai efisiensi dan efektivitas distribusi komponen dan material untuk industri reparasi kapal ikan

The fishing vessel repair industry holds a vital role in ensuring the continuity of operational activities within fishing fleets, particularly in coastal regions such as Gresik and Lamongan, East Java. In line with the advancement of digital technologies, a structural transformation has occurred within the supply chain mechanism, from a traditionally conventional model to an ecommerce- based system. This study aims to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the differences in supply chain characteristics of the fishing vessel repair industry between conventional and e-commerce approaches, with emphasis on business actor hierarchy, product availability, procurement costs and delivery duration, as well as the diversity of payment methods. The research methodology employed comprises literature review, field observation, and the collection of both primary and secondary data. Data for the conventional system were obtained through direct interaction with business actors in Gresik and Lamongan, whereas data for the e-commerce system were sourced through one of the e-commerce platforms. The components and materials under examination include engine systems, fishing gear, hull construction materials, and coating substances. The findings indicate that the conventional supply chain exhibits a hierarchical structure that relies heavily on official distributors. This model demonstrates advantages in terms of rapid local procurement and the capacity to handle large and heavy items. Nevertheless, it is relatively limited in terms of brand variety, pricing transparency, supply coverage, and access to real-time information regarding product availability. Conversely, the e-commerce model offers a more streamlined supply chain with broader product variations, greater flexibility in payment options, and enhanced transparency in the delivery process. However, e-commerce remains constrained by logistical limitations, particularly in handling items exceeding 23 kilograms or dimensions of 40 cm × 28 cm × 28 cm, rendering it less suitable for larger components. In terms of payment systems, e-commerce facilitates more diverse and efficient options when compared to the conventional method, which remains predominantly limited to cash or direct transfers. The selection of procurement methods must be aligned with the type of product, level of urgency, geographical conditions, as well as volume and weight constraints, in order to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of component and material distribution within the fishing vessel repair industry.
