Abstract

Oro-oro Ombo village has the potential as an area that can
be developed as a herbal agro-tourism area against the background
of potential conditions. The plantation area which reaches 276 ha
with highland physiographic conditions and most of the people work
as farmers is a potential that can be developed. However, there are
still problems related to the suitability of the land, namely varied
geomorphology (steep to very steep) so that access is quite difficult,
and there is no direction for the development of herbal agrotourism.
This study aims to develop directions for the development of
herbal agro-tourism in Oro-oro Ombo Village based on land
suitability to suit the characteristics and functions of agro-tourism.
This research is a type of descriptive research with a qualitative-
quantitative approach. The quantitative approach used in this study
is the overlay method with data in the form of land suitability and
land use maps that are processed in ArcGIS software to identify
appropriate zones for the development of herbal plant classification
and delineate herbal agro-tourism development zones. As for the
qualitative approach using triangulation analysis method to be able
to formulate directions for the development of herbal agrotourism in
Oro-oro Ombo Village based on the suitability of the function of
each characteristic.
The results of the study indicate that the suitability of land for
herbal plants and the function of agro-tourism characteristics affect
the direction of herbal agro-tourism development in Oro-oro Ombo
Village. And the direction of development in each zone is focused on
developing agricultural activities along with processed products and
supporting activities for herbal agro-tourism in the form of
supporting facilities and infrastructure.
